Pete,
>elitist, dogmatic definitions
"I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except by me" John 14:6. I am the True Vine; I am the Good Shepherd; I am the light of the world; I am the bread of life; If you do not believe I Am, you will die in your sins; Before Abraham was born I Am; I am the resurrection and the life. Jesus clearly laid out the 'ground rules' for belief that qualifies as 'Christian'. It's that simple, if you don't like it so be it. Anyone who compromises one iota from that are not Christians. Yes, it's exclusive because truth itself is exclusive. I hope this clarifies exactly what is entailed to be a true follower of Christ. It's not some weak, compromising, selfish or sweet reality. It's as radical as anything can get.

Jesus is God: He claimed to be God; He made Himself equal to God; The Messiah expected by the Jews was God; early Christians worshipped Jesus and proclaimed Him God. That about covers His deity. A follower of Christ is someone who has made a personal, heartfelt profession to belief in Him as the savior of their own soul. See Romans 6:23; John 3:3,5,16; 1 Cor. 5:15; 15:4-10; Eph. 2: 8-10; Romans 10:9-11, 13.

Sick, twisted and depraved. This kind of thing gives Christianity a bad name. There are many ways to express your theology that do not involve the cruelty of this group.

Absolute truths have been admitted....
by Shining One ini had to wade through a lot of muck to find anyone with any reasonable arguments in my last post.
most were just the usual personal attacks from the fringe and their flock of followers.
instead of dealing with them, i have decided to post one response to those who made some valid points.

Hi Little Miss Jgnat,
>Fuzzy thinking to me, is as appealing as fuzzy green stuff on my cheese. I can't stomach it.
Then why do you regurgitate it on the rest of us? LOL

Way to go, Hellrider!
>But you, on the other hand, why are you mocking him in this thread? He offended noone, and furthermore, you are a self-professed christian, are you not? As a christian, you are supposed to believe in the universal ethical standards he (and myself) claims are there. The way I see it, you can dismiss the argument as being a good argument for the existence of God, but you can`t (as a christian) dismiss that there are universal, ethical standards.
You are one rare individual here who actually argues in an intellectual honest way...I pointed out that she claims to be a Christian (and even a Sunday school teacher) yet she consistently argues on the opposite side of belief.

IC Sec,
>jgnat, did I ever tell you, you are one of my favorite christians ever?
Are you sure of that? "Birds of a feather, flock together". She is obviously not in the Christian camp, she claims to be a Christian yet seems to hold the values of a non-believer. "If it quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck"! BTW, if you had any intellectual integrity you would point out her decided lack of reasoning consistency.

Extra training ... so you know that shooting babies is WRONG ?!?
by Simon inhow dumb and pathetic.. no extra training should be necessary for even slightly trained and disciplined soldiers.
i guess it is for some of the rabble that the us call "troops" though.. of course the real problem is not just those on the ground that have committed the latest attrocity.
it is the chain of command that tried to cover it up and all the way up to the president who sanctions bombing of civilian targets with nothing more than rumour for "intelligence".. from now on america, you are on your own.

>there is no justice in any government. but, unfortunately, their is no lack of people who will show their loyalty by covering up things like this. there is no lack of homegrown terrorists in every country of the world or govenments to cover them over. this world cannot end soon enough.
Once a dub always a dub....LOL

Simon,
Ignorance must be bliss. You blindly accept the accusations of any and all who would accuse America and Americans, don't you? They'll have a fair investigation and trial, then you can whine but not until. We have assumed innocense except in the military. You did't know that either, did you? We have to keep bailing out you weanies who think that peace is assured by negotiations. Bring on Neville Chamberlain! LOL
I haven't heard you whine about Kofi Annan and his son taking bribes, or the Russians or the French. I guess that is not part of your agenda: 'America is evil' beats on your 'clanging symbol'.

Is the average American afraid of the return of its troops?
by Gill inis the ordinary american, afraid of the return of their service men from iraq?
without a doubt, these young men have been traumatised by everything they have done, or seen done.
how damaged are they now?

Leo,
You are so steeped in leftist propaganda. Neo-colonialism? LOL, if that's the case why do we not CONTROL THE NATIONS THAT WE DEFEAT? You have seen Soviet colonialism and you obviously ignore it. Doesn't the idea of human rights apply to Communists or Islamists? America defeats it's enemies then helps the PEOPLE OF THE COUNTRY form a government that is for the people. We help them rebuild their countries and support their economies. Sure, it's not perfect but I wonder if you realize what the alternatives are? The media whines about our 'torture' of people but I wouldn't call something along the lines of a fraternity prank torture! Do you just igmore the beheadings? Do you just ignore the horrible homicide attacks by the religious of the biggest cult in the world? If it ws up to Europe we would all be dealing with the latest Nazi regime!
Islam is expansionist by it's very nature and teachings. Communist governments typically pan out the same way. Have you read ay of the books on the Soviet Gulags? Have you not seen the total degradation of women in the Islamic countries? Your mouth would soon be silenced in either one. Don't believe me? Go try to live under one.

Gill,
Are you really that clueless? You must not have any 'alternative' news sources from the lib, socialist agenda trumping media. Iraq has been freed of a murderous brute who was ready to acquire WMDs as soon as the embargo was lifted. He already had Russia, France and the U.N. brass in cahoots with him. Our troops have freed more than 50 million people in the Islamic world and Iraq has already had three very successful elections and is well on the way to establishing order, the great majority of Iraquis are behind our effort and only ask for enough time to drive the foreigners out of their country.
It may end up as three separate states working out of a central goverment. Afghanistan is working out there rule even better. Democracy is getting good start in the middle east. I wonder why all of the leftist weanies (who are supposed to be on the side of the 'common man') are so constant in their negative propaganda? They want to see the return and expansion of communism is my guess.
